Installation, 2017 Two dismantled motorbikes
Two motorbikes, of which shells and some parts have been dismantled, face each other. Microprocessors control the ignitions and the horns, which provokes the vehicles to create noises in seemingly random intervals.
On the level of sound GHOSTRIDERS creates a dialogue between both of the bikes. The horn, conventionally an alert signal, is being established as a language. The sound of ignition suggests a movement that finds it’s way in the visual expression of the objects, while they remain in their sculptural arrangement.
Some bolts and screws lying on the ground, which apparently have fallen down as the front wheel of one of the motorbikes collapsed, are referring to the slow decay the vehicles are facing: A patient and unavoidable movement during a fiery and loud discussion.
