Seven chairs are arranged in a row to form a sequence of rotation by 180°. Inside the darkened room tailored light is being projected in fast intervals onto the chairs creating the illusion of one moving chair and putting in the ambivalent state between movement and standstill.

»Chairway to Heaven« plays with the illusion of creating movement by duplication. Movement that only exists because of a simple optical principal: the Phi phenomenon. The original usage of the chair, which is to give rest, is being counteracted by this installation in which light provides restlessness to the object.
